A Fayetteville local, Kennedie works across mediums, including painting and sculpture. Her work is fun and playful on the surface, but is rooted in memory and meaning.
“When I’m creating portraits, they are always based on someone from my past or present. Memory can be a tricky thing. Many times what you recall from past relationships can be skewed and even flawed when viewed from another's perspective. The action of memories/nostalgia fading in and out of one's conscious feels very fluid to me.”
